I prefer illustrated covers on books in fantasy/sci-fi/paranormal. In contemporary romance, I have seen some illustrated covers that are well done (Legend by Jude Devereux, for instance, shows a gorgeous drawing of a table set with the most yummy food you can imagine; that's still one of my favorite books). I'm more of the group that feels the type of cover depends on the genre and the quality of the graphics. I'm not a fan of CGI-looking cover art; I like work done by Anne Caine and Cris Griffin, where the graphics don't look like a computer game, but rather like really intricate and life-like sketches.
