Free! Someone said free. I am all over free stuff. Of course, I never win.
Your books sound very cool Michelle Lauren. I’ll try to get my hands on a copy (if I don’t win one). *)

The thing I love about urban fantasy is that anything goes. Nothing is too much or too “out there”. I feel like the stories are more creative as a result.

On the other hand, the setting is contemporary so it seems like it could really happen. This is a great combination for me.

    Hi

I like that they can turn a dull afternoon exciting.

  4. on 10 Apr 2009 at 9:59 pm#4Debby Creager

I like urban fantasy because it adds to the story since I live out in the country and big cities are a whole different world to me

  5. on 11 Apr 2009 at 6:22 am#5gloria

I like this type of story because it is more modern in setting and it brings me in contact with a larger city and that world. :<3 *

I like futuristic stories. They stir my imagination and make me think, “What if?” The fact that Urban Fantasies are also HOT is a wonderful added bonus. I’m looking forward to more of your work in the future–keep the stories coming!

  7. on 16 Apr 2009 at 11:15 am#7Gayle O

I love that Urban Fantasies tells stories that I love. Anything can happen. Present, future, the down and dirty, nitty gritty stuff. I can really imagine myself in the stories and believe that they can happen.

Thank you for entering me in your contest.

I enjoy urban fantasy because it blends ever day stuff with a touch of magic and what ifs… a handsome man with black wings at your local club, a portal to another world just a few steps into the ocean and so on.

I’ve always been a big dream and these certainly liven up an afternoon.

    Michelle,

I’m utterly fascinated and hooked by books of this type, those with fantasy-type characters. They seem to “take me away” from everything. I particularly like the idea of the star and the energy and can’t wait to read how the hero gets around the problem. One way or another, I’m going to read this book.

Someday, I’ll write something in this genre.

Urban fantasy appeals to my desire for real overlaid by unreal. I like the contemporary setting with the fantasy fun, and love to see how different creative minds extrapolate from what they have to work with reality-wise. Urban fantasy, done well, is very smart.

  11. on 20 Apr 2009 at 8:33 pm#11Tami

I like urban fantasy because anything paranormal piques my interest. Thanks for a great contest.

    the contest rocks!

Urban fantasys are the ones for me. As I get older I want to stay more in the real world with alot of unreality thrown in. Does that make sense?LOL ;D

I love Urban fantasy because one can relate to the locations and the everyday living without having to fantas[ize] [s]o much about a completely different world.

  15. on 24 Apr 2009 at 1:48 pm#15Cynthya

I like urban fantasies because they always have strong, smart women. I also like the worldbuilding the authors do, how they take a world like ours and put their own twist on it to make it much more interesting (and scary!) I like the action, too.

  16. on 24 Apr 2009 at 7:54 pm#16Edie

I like books that surprise me. I think UF is more likely to do that.

  17. on 25 Apr 2009 at 5:11 am#17Debby

I love the creativity and the uniqueness of urban fantasies. Theyare great entertainment. Yours lloks great. I am adding it to my list.

  18. on 25 Apr 2009 at 6:10 am#18Lindsey Ekland

I love the maybe it could happen aspect combined with a female lead who is rarely TSTL and an alpha male. Usually the world building is creative and makes one think about the possibilities.

  19. on 26 Apr 2009 at 11:20 pm#19Paula

I like how UF plays with imagination and possibilities (what if vampires were real? what if you could read someone’s mind?) and combines it with our own society to tell an alternative story.

  20. on 29 Apr 2009 at 7:11 am#20Valerie

I love the mix of a contemporary setting together with fantasy or paranormal elements. I enjoy stories where vampires, werewolves, elves and fae are all a natural part of today’s society. I enjoy reading about heroines who are strong and savvy. I love witty, sharp dialogue too. Keep them coming.

  21. on 29 Apr 2009 at 9:24 am#21La Rue Forrester

To me an urban fantasy combines the best of all worlds, comtemporary settings, magic, romance and hot characters. I have always loved the idea of alternative lives and what ifs? Keeps you thinking about things like could I survive these situations with the knowledge of what I know and the possibilites of what could be? Hum!!!!

  22. on 30 Apr 2009 at 8:58 am#22chris aka Sandpanther

I love the action and the Paranormal Twist in Urban Fantasy

It is a perfect genre for anchoring a story, letting the reader be absorbed into the plot.

  25. on 30 Apr 2009 at 3:43 pm#25Tajohn

The women are always strong but still are women. I love these stories because you see a more diverse group of people. Sometimes in other books you don’t see it or their(race) is all the book is about. I’m a long time sc[i] fi fan. So I get my love of romance and sci fi together. Perfect!

  26. on 01 May 2009 at 5:50 am#26Michelle Lauren
